As part of our project, the ‘CLIMPS Local Policy Impact Forum & Youth Workshop’ was held at Dedeman Hotel Kartepe on 27 May 2025.
In the first part of the event, the Local Policy Impact Forum was held with the participation of public institutions, universities, industrial organisations, civil society representatives and young individuals, moderated by Prof. Dr. Sevil Veli from the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kocaeli University. The forum aimed to raise awareness with the goal of reshaping short-term plans within the framework of the European Green Deal and creating local policy impact.
In the afternoon session, participants gathered around five different tables focused on climate change and youth to discuss the topics in detail. Discussions covered critical topics such as the role of young people in the green transition, education and awareness-raising efforts, climate leadership, circular economy and waste management, youth participation in local climate policies, digitalisation, and the link to the Green Deal. The ideas and proposed solutions raised at the tables were recorded.
